Mumbai's National Gallery of Modern Art occupies the former Sir Cowasji Jehangir Public Hall, a 1911 building near the city's main museum district. The collection and temporary shows focus on modern and contemporary Indian art, making it a useful counterpoint to the older material at the nearby Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya.
It is an easy stop while walking around Kala Ghoda and the Fort area.
