Kaung Daing Village

Inle Lake village known for tofu-making, hot springs, and a quieter shore-side look at Intha life.

Kaung Daing is a useful pause on the western side of Inle Lake, especially if you want something quieter than the floating-market circuit. The village is known for Shan tofu and other soy-based snacks, and small workshops may still show the everyday food production that supports lake communities.

It is also associated with hot springs and shore-side cycling routes, so it can work as either a cultural stop or a gentle activity break. The point is not a single monument but the texture of village life around Inle: food, water, fields, and the slower roads away from the boat traffic.
