Cho La

Cho La is the high pass linking the Gokyo valley with the eastern side of the Everest Base Camp route. At about 5,420 metres, it is one of the classic crossings on the Three Passes trek, with views toward Lobuche Peak and the surrounding ice and rock.

The pass is serious trekking terrain. Conditions change quickly, and snow or ice can make crampons necessary, so check locally before leaving Dzongla or Thangnak.
