Muan Tidal Flat

Ramsar-listed yellow-clay tidal flat with ecology exhibits and hands-on mudflat walks.

Muan's tidal flat is the county's strongest reason to visit. The protected wetland is known for its yellow clay soil, broad exposed flats at low tide, and the small creatures that make Korean mudflats so productive: clams, crabs, snails, octopus, and migratory birds.

The Muan Ecological Tidal Flat Land site adds exhibits and controlled hands-on experiences such as clam digging or barefoot mud walking. Check tide times before you go; the landscape changes completely with the water.
