The Seven Beauties Tomb is the memorial behind Cimei's modern name. Local tradition says seven women killed themselves here during a pirate raid, and the island was renamed from Dayu to Qimei, or "seven beauties", after the story.
The site is modest, but it gives the island's scenery a sharper historical edge. Pair it with Qimei Lighthouse, which is close by.
