Matsu Distillery produces the strong sorghum liquor that is one of the islands' best-known products. It is not subtle, but it belongs to the place: a warming drink for windy islands with a long garrison history.
The distillery is easiest to visit while touring Nangan. Even if you are not a drinker, the combination of local industry, military tunnels, and island branding makes it a useful stop.
