The Cave of Prehistoric Man is one of Cuc Phuong's more atmospheric short stops, reached by a forest path and a climb into the limestone. Excavations here found graves and stone and bone tools dating back about 7,500 years, though the finds themselves have been removed.
Bring a torch if you want to explore beyond the entrance chamber. The cave is rough rather than polished, which is part of the appeal.
