Viganj is a small village just west of Orebić on the Pelješac peninsula. The Pelješac channel funnels a reliable afternoon wind here, making it one of the best windsurfing and kitesurfing spots on the Croatian coast. Several schools rent equipment and offer lessons. Beyond the wind, there is a long pebble beach, a handful of restaurants, the small Franciscan Our Lady of Angels monastery on the headland east of the village, and a short ferry across the channel to Korčula — but not much else, which is exactly the point.
