Inchydoney Beach

Sandy Atlantic beach south of Clonakilty, split by a small headland and strong tides.

Inchydoney is the beach Clonakilty points to when the weather is kind. The former tidal island is now linked by causeways, with a long sandy strand on the south side and wetlands behind.

It is a good walking beach and a popular swimming and surf spot, but take the tides seriously. The coast here looks gentle until the water starts moving.
