The Parco Naturale Regionale della Lessinia covers some 100 square kilometres of the high plateau, between roughly 1,200 and 1,800 metres. The landscape is a patchwork of summer pastures, isolated malghe (stone-built cheesemaker huts), beech forests, and karst features — dolines, sinkholes, and stone pavements polished smooth by ten thousand years of weather.
Several well-marked trails leave from the visitor centre at Bosco Chiesanuova and from the parking areas higher up, including the Valle delle Sfingi above Camposilvano, where erosion has shaped the limestone into stubby pinnacles, and the Ponte di Veja loop. In winter the plateau picks up reliable snow and is used for cross-country skiing; in summer it is one of the cooler places near Verona on hot afternoons.
