Teesside's own writing is about history: the ironmaking and railway towns that grew up along the river in the nineteenth century. Both of these are by people from here. One is a local author's history site, which picks out what is still worth visiting. The other is the archive service's blog, where volunteers write up what they find in the town's records.
Between them they point to the Dorman Museum, a smugglers' inn below the Saltburn cliffs and a folk museum in Marske's oldest cottage.
