Goathland

Moorland village with sheep on the green and a steam railway station

Goathland is a moorland village in the middle of the North York Moors, with sheep wandering across wide greens. It was the village of Aidensfield in the television series Heartbeat. Its station on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, kept in its 1920s style, played Hogsmeade in the first Harry Potter film.

There is good walking from the village: down to the waterfall of Mallyan Spout, and along the old railway trail to Grosmont.
