3 Blogs for Leeds

The city library's heritage blog, a volunteer-run online magazine, and the civic trust that rescued a Victorian bear pit

Leeds has less independent writing about itself than you would expect for a city its size, and most of it is about bars and gigs. These three write about the places. The library's local history team publishes trails and articles from its own collections. A volunteer-run magazine covers what is on and, now and then, where to go for nothing. And the civic trust writes about the buildings it campaigns for, including one it has owned since 1966.

They point to a walled garden of rest beside St John's Church, a seven-mile valley trail out of Headingley and the Bear Pit on Cardigan Road.
