Scarborough Speedboat Rides runs 12-seat powerboats off the Golden Ball slipway in the South Bay. The eight-minute ride heads either north along Marine Drive to the North Bay or south towards White Nab, depending on the sea; boats leave every ten minutes, so there is no need to book, and children must be over a metre tall. Porpoises, dolphins and seals are sometimes seen from the boats in summer. Private charters are also offered.
