3 Blogs for Whitby and the Coast

Whitby's own volunteer-founded visitor site, the museum's archivists on the whale-bone arch, and the bird observatory on Flamborough Head

Writing about this coast is dominated by holiday-cottage blogs. The local writing comes from three institutions that have been here for a long time. Whitby's visitor site was started by volunteers from the town's tourism association, and its blog covers local businesses and history. The museum's library and archive staff write up what they find in the collections. And the bird observatory on Flamborough Head posts a sightings log every day and a guide to where to look.

They lead to the lobster hatchery on the fish pier, the whale-bone arch on the West Cliff and the wooded ravine at South Landing.
