A long, wide sweep of sand on the north coast, about 10 miles from Limavady in County Derry. Benone has held Blue Flag status and the beach is backed by dunes and open farmland rather than development. On a clear day the Donegal coastline is visible across Lough Foyle.
The beach is popular for surfing, kitesurfing, and long walks, and rarely feels crowded even in summer. There are basic facilities (toilets, a small car park) but no cafes or shops — bring what you need.
