Rue Point

Southern tip of Rathlin, with a small lighthouse of 1921 looking across to Fair Head

Rue Point is the southern tip of Rathlin, at the end of the island's low southern arm, about three miles from the harbour along the lane. A small lighthouse was lit here in 1921. It looks back across the sound to Fair Head and the mainland.

On the way you pass Roonivoolin, where the RSPB has an off-road walking trail and a lough reserve that is free to visit; look for snipe, skylarks and Irish hares.
