At 42 Shore Street, right next to the Fisheries Museum, the Anstruther Fish Bar won fish and chip shop of the year in 2001–02 and again in 2009, and it has lived on the reputation ever since. You can eat in or take away. Haddock in batter is the obvious order.
It's open daily from late morning to evening. In summer the queue goes out the door. Take your chips to the harbour wall and keep an eye on the gulls.
