The heritage centre is run by volunteers of the Applecross Historical Society and opened in 2003 in a carefully restored 19th-century outbuilding of the old manse. Its displays, artefacts and records cover the peninsula's long history, from the early monastery onwards, and it doubles as a research centre for people tracing Applecross roots.
It's small, personal and run on goodwill. It stands next to the old parish church at Clachan, so visit both together.
