Glenshee Ski Centre

Britain's largest lift-served ski area, spread over four hills at the Cairnwell Pass south of Braemar.

Glenshee sits astride the A93 at the Cairnwell Pass, ten miles south of Braemar. With 22 lifts and about 40 km of pistes across four hills, it's the largest alpine snowsports area in Britain. Most of the runs suit beginners and cautious intermediates, but the "Tiger" is one of the steepest pistes in Scotland, and the long Glas Maol run is worth the trip when the snow is good.

Scottish snow is never a sure thing, so check conditions before you drive up. In summer some chairlifts run for walkers and mountain bikers, which makes a quick start on the Munros around the pass.
