3 Blogs for the Outer Hebrides

The islands' board on the empty east of Lewis, an islander's essays from Scalpay, and Uist's Gaelic community site

The Outer Hebrides are written about mostly as a postcard. These three write from inside: the islands' tourism body on the empty east of Lewis that visitors heading for Callanish never see, a Stornoway-born writer's essays on island life now, and Uist's community site, in Gaelic and English.

They lead to a ruined church at Point, a headland for whales, the beach where one writer's family came from, and the Madonna on the hill above South Uist.
