The Black Cuillin is the most dramatic mountain range in Britain — a horseshoe of twelve Munros (mountains over 3,000 feet) with narrow ridge walks, sheer gabbro rock faces, and scrambles requiring hands-and-feet technique. The rock gives excellent grip. The main access point is Sligachan to the north or Glen Brittle to the west, where a campsite and hostel sit at the base of the range. The easier Red Cuillin hills to the east are rounded granite mountains accessible to walkers of all abilities.
