A curved sandy beach about 1.5 kilometres long on the south side of the Marloes peninsula, backed by cliffs of red sandstone and grey shale. Look for the Three Chimneys, three upright fins of hard Silurian rock (there were four until a storm in 1954). Gateholm Island at the western end can be reached at low tide, and Skokholm lies offshore.
There is no road down. Park at the National Trust car park and walk down a track. The walk keeps the crowds away, and that is a big part of the appeal. It has been used as a film location, including for Snow White and the Huntsman.
