St James's Church, Manorbier

Grade I listed twelfth-century church facing the castle across the valley, with medieval paintings in the porch

The parish church stands on the slope opposite the castle, with a slender tower typical of south Pembrokeshire. It dates from the twelfth century and was much altered over the following centuries; the chancel and transepts were built around 1250. Medieval paintings survive on the porch ceiling.

From the churchyard there is a good view of the castle across the valley.
