Tom Griffiths moved his mill from St Davids to a new building at Middle Mill, a mile up the valley from Solva, in 1907, driven by a ten-foot overshot water wheel. It claims to be the oldest working woollen mill in Pembrokeshire; of the 26 the county had in 1900, it is one of two still going. It once made tweed, blankets and flannel, and later carpets; today it specialises in flat-woven rugs and runners.
You can watch the looms at work. The water wheel was restored in 2007 and the original mill building is now a shop and tearoom.
