A PADI shop on Placencia's Main Street, diving the southern reef and the cayes off the peninsula. Its distinctive trip is Gladden Spit, where whale sharks come in to feed on the spawn of snapper aggregations around the full moons of March to June — an encounter that depends on fish behaviour rather than a schedule, so nobody can promise you one.
The southern reef is quieter than the diving off Ambergris: fewer boats, and the cayes you stop at for lunch are mostly empty.
