Recollet Falls Trail is the best short walk in the visitor centre area. It leads through forest and shield rock toward the river, where falls and rapids show why this route was beautiful but never easy for canoe travellers.
The trail is modest rather than dramatic, but it gives a quick, physical feel for the landscape: rock underfoot, dark water nearby, and the sense that the road has only brushed the edge of the place.
