A PADI instructor-development centre in the village, diving the sites that make Bayahibe the country's best base: the St George, a 73-metre freighter sunk upright in 40 metres, the shallow coral inside the Parque Nacional del Este, and the caverns on and around Isla Saona.
Their instructors include marine biologists, and the shop makes a point of the reef restoration work going on in this park — which is the reason the coral here is in better shape than most of the Caribbean.
