The best-known trekking outfit in the western highlands, run by volunteers, with the profits funding a school and a safe home for children in Xela. The three-day walk from Xela down to Lake Atitlán is the classic — through Maya villages and down the escarpment to the lake — and they also run Tajumulco, the highest point in Central America, the five-day Nebaj to Todos Santos traverse through the Cuchumatanes, and day walks up Santa María.

Prices are posted in quetzales and are low for what they are, because the model is not built on margin. Sign up in person at the office the day before if you can; the trips fill.
