In the centre of Loreto, two streets from the mission, covering the Bay of Loreto national park — five islands, a marine protected area, and some of the quietest water in the Sea of Cortez.
They run boat trips to Coronado and Danzante, kayaking and paddleboarding along the island shores, diving, and in winter the long day across the peninsula to Magdalena Bay for grey whales, which calve there between January and March and are famous for approaching boats to be touched.
