Great Acropolis and Building of Five Stories

Edzna's main ceremonial platform, crowned by the stepped, palace-like Building of Five Stories.

The Great Acropolis is the reason to come. Its stairways lift you from the plaza to a high ceremonial court, where the Building of Five Stories rises like a stepped palace rather than a simple pyramid. The scale is impressive, but the details are just as good: carved steps, long sight lines across the valley, and the sense that this was built to manage movement and ceremony.

Go here first, before the sun gets hard. From the top levels you can see how flat the surrounding country is, which makes Edzna's old water system easier to imagine.
