Bonaire runs on diving. The whole coast is a marine park, more than eighty sites on the west coast are marked from the road with yellow-painted stones, and the standard way to dive them is to rent a pickup, collect tanks from a dive shop and go wherever you like. Almost every operator on the island is in or near Kralendijk, so this is where they are listed. That includes the ones out on Lac Bay, on the east coast, which is fifteen minutes' drive away.

Lac Bay is the other centre: a shallow lagoon with steady wind for windsurfing and kiting, and mangroves you can only enter with a guide. Diving or snorkelling in the marine park requires the STINAPA nature fee, which dive shops collect.
