The Touring y Automóvil Club Paraguayo is the country's automobile club — roadside assistance, driving school, international driving permits, the national sporting authority for the WRC round — and it has quietly been one of the more reliable sellers of organised travel inside Paraguay for decades. The eight-storey Casa Central on the corner of 25 de Mayo and Brasil is where the coaches leave from.
Their three-day Encarnación package is the one to know about, because it includes something you cannot easily arrange yourself: the evening sound-and-light circuit at Trinidad. Day one is the road south with a stop at Villa Florida, the hotel, and then Trinidad by daylight followed by the luces y sonidos. Day two is free on Playa San José. Day three takes in San Cosme y Damián and lunch at the Parador Piringo in San Ignacio before the run home. Gs 990.000 a head sharing, or Gs 1.500.000 if you want the better hotel.
The rest of the list is short and worth scanning: a Ruta Jesuítica, a Chaco tour, a Paraná tour, a lake tour, a cheese tour and a "Caacupé extremo". Prices for those are not published on the site — the packages page shows Gs 0 for everything but the Encarnación trip, which means ask.
They also run scheduled day tours out of Asunción, leaving from the SENATUR office on Palma: Areguá, a rooftop-bar circuit, a craft-beer circuit and a guarania-and-history walk, Gs 80.000 to Gs 250.000. Those are sold on a mobile number that SENATUR publishes and TACPy does not, which is a very Paraguayan state of affairs.
