The four peaks of Siguniang Mountain — Dafeng, Erfeng, Sanfeng, and Yaomei — form the defining skyline of the national park. Yaomei, the highest at 6,250 metres, is a serious technical climb accessible only by permitted expedition teams. The three lower peaks, ranging from 5,355 to 5,664 metres, are visible from various points in Shuangqiao and Changping valleys and form the backdrop to the most iconic photographs taken in the park.
All four peaks are part of the Qionglai Mountains, a range that forms the eastern edge of the Tibetan plateau. The panoramic viewpoint in Shuangqiao Valley known as Maobilian Ridge, roughly 7 kilometres from the park town, gives the best angle on the full line of peaks, with the five summits spread across the horizon in a sequence that makes the four-sisters framing immediately clear. The best light is in the morning before the afternoon cloud builds.
