Ballylinchy Signal Tower (Kedge Point)

Ruined Napoleonic signal tower and a wartime EIRE sign on the cliffs east of Baltimore

On the cliffs east of Baltimore, looking out at Kedge Island, are the ruins of a signal tower from the chain built around the Irish coast against a French invasion in the Napoleonic Wars. Nearby is one of the EIRE signs laid out in stone during the Second World War to tell aircrews they were over neutral Ireland. It is a fair walk off the road over rough moorland.
