The Cobh Heritage Centre, also called the Queenstown Story, occupies the old dockside railway station building on Deepwater Quay. Its exhibitions cover the Great Famine and mass emigration, penal transportation to Australia, the harbour's defences, the sinking of the Lusitania, and the Titanic's last call at Queenstown in 1912. It's the best place to start a visit, and many cruise passengers do just that.
Outside on the waterfront stands a statue of Annie Moore, who sailed from here with her two younger brothers and became the first immigrant processed at Ellis Island on 1 January 1892. The centre is open daily from 9:30am to 5pm; adult admission was €15 in 2025.
