Daly's Bridge (the Shakey Bridge)

Bouncy suspension footbridge over the Lee between the Mardyke and Sunday's Well

A small suspension footbridge across the north channel of the Lee, linking the Mardyke and Fitzgerald's Park to Sunday's Well. Corkonians have always called it the Shakey Bridge, because it bounces as you cross. It replaced a ferry; the path leading to it is still called Ferry Walk.

The bridge's essence has transcended time from a physical bridging point to one of playfulness, one of fun and one whose shakiness is a key part of Cork's cultural heritage.
