A photographer out on the limestone at sunrise year-round, and the Geopark's own guide to its strangest landforms

The Burren rewards people who stay, and the best writing about it comes from a photographer who has done exactly that. His field notes follow the seasons, the light and the castles along the north coast. Alongside it is the UNESCO Geopark's own explanation of the landscape, which makes sense of features you will otherwise walk straight past.

They take you to a Martello tower that still has its cannon, a lake that comes and goes with the rain, and an ice-cream parlour on the hill above New Quay.
