A small, flat island with a lighthouse, a mile off Amble. In summer it holds around 20,000 pairs of puffins, Arctic, common and Sandwich terns, and the only breeding roseate terns in Britain, whose nest boxes the RSPB wardens look after. Landing is not allowed. Boat trips from Amble harbour circle the island from spring to late summer, and grey seals haul out on the rocks.
