Corbridge Roman Town

Excavated streets, granaries and temples of Coria, a Roman supply town behind the wall

Coria began as a fort on the Stanegate road around AD 85 and grew into a town that supplied the garrisons on Hadrian's Wall. You walk along its main street, past the granaries with their raised floors, a fountain house and the bases of temples. The museum holds the Corbridge Hoard of Roman armour and the Corbridge Lion. Run by English Heritage.
