Walltown Country Park

A former quarry below the Walltown crags, now an easy, accessible park beside Hadrian's Wall

A former quarry beside one of the best-preserved stretches of Hadrian's Wall, now landscaped round ponds, with level, wheelchair-friendly paths and a visitor centre café. Footpaths climb from here onto the Walltown crags and the Wall itself.

Right beside Hadrian’s Wall, it somehow manages to feel like a bit of an adventure – without being hard work to get around.
