Spanish City

Restored Edwardian pleasure palace with a landmark white dome on the seafront

Opened in 1910 as a concert hall and later the centre of a funfair, the Spanish City was for decades the symbol of Whitley Bay's heyday. After years of decline it was restored in 2018, and the great dome now covers a restaurant, a champagne bar, a fish and chip shop and a tearoom.
