York has more walking tours than any other city in England, from history walks around the walls and snickelways to a whole competitive industry of nightly ghost walks; the oldest has run every night since 1973. There are also food walks, chocolate-making at a working chocolate maker, and tours of the city's gin distillery and breweries.
