A small hotel and pub directly opposite the Stromness ferry terminal, the Ferry Inn is the obvious first stop for anyone landing in Orkney. The bar serves all the Orkney beers and a substantial whisky selection, plus decent pub food until late. Stone-walled snug, friendly staff, occasional traditional music.
The rooms upstairs are a useful overnight option if you are catching the early ferry south.
