Stromness's pleasures are mostly on foot: wander the flagstoned main street and its alleys, see the Pier Arts Centre and the Stromness Museum, climb Brinkies Brae, and walk the coast path past the Ness Battery to Warbeth. Western Orkney's great Neolithic sites are a short drive away.
