A shop in the centre of Zihuatanejo, a street back from the municipal beach, diving the rocky pinnacles around the bay — Los Morros de Potosí, Caleta de Chon, Sacramento — where the Pacific drops off quickly and the fish are large.

Visibility runs from ten metres to thirty depending on the month, the water is cooler, and what you see is schooling jacks, rays and the occasional whale shark rather than coral gardens. Humpback whales are in these waters from December to March and they run the watching trips.
