Jaime Hernández Balderas was born in Pátzcuaro, is accredited as a guide by SECTUR, and has done this for twenty-five years in English and Spanish. He publishes no address, so the pin is on the town.
Beyond a walk round the historic centre, his tours are organised around the craft villages of the lake and the highlands, each with its own trade: copper at Santa Clara del Cobre, the masks of Tócuaro, pottery at Capula and Santa Fe de la Laguna, Tzintzuntzan and Ihuatzio with their P'urhépecha ruins, Erongarícuaro, Jarácuaro, Cuanajo and Tupátaro, and further out the guitar makers of Paracho. He also runs the Day of the Dead night on 1 November, the monarch sanctuaries and the buried church at Paricutín.
