The company that explored and opened up the Matacanes, Hidrofobia and Chipitín canyons in the Sierra de Santiago, guiding them since 1997.
Matacanes comes three ways: the same-day descent, a version with a night at their lodge first, and a private group. The basic route has two rappels (27 and 15 metres), two underground rivers and the long run of jumps into turquoise pools that the canyon is known for; most trips start up at Potrero Redondo. They also sell the Hidrofobia and Chipitín canyons, two- and three-canyon packs, El Calabozo canyon at La Estanzuela, the Ruta Vértigo via ferrata, kayaking on La Boca lake, and canyoning courses from beginner up.
Their own base, Aldea Matacanes, has cabins, tipis and glamping, which makes the early start a lot easier than driving out of Monterrey before dawn.
