Cabo Catoche is a longer boat outing from Holbox to the cape at the north-east tip of the Yucatan Peninsula. Trips usually mix open water, fishing or snorkelling, and a stop near the point where the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean waters meet.
It is less about one landmark than the feeling of getting beyond the island's busy beach strip. Conditions matter, so ask locally before booking.
