Quetzaltrekkers is a non-profit run entirely by volunteer guides, and every córdoba it makes goes to Las Tías, a León project supporting children who work in the streets and the market. It has been doing this for years and is transparent about the accounts.
The hikes are the serious end of what León offers: the Telica crater overnight, El Hoyo, the Maribios traverse, and Cerro Negro. Groups are small, the gear is provided, and you carry your own food and water — which is the trade for the price.
